Our Story

Remote Area Concrete commenced operations in September 1994 by Roger Osborn after noticing the need for the provision of concrete and services to remote and isolated areas. Always thinking outside the square a Volumetric Concrete Batch Plant was purchased and operations commenced, peaking in 2014 to a turnover of around $9m carrying out concrete civils encompassing a client base of Mining, Power Generation & Outback Communities.

A quality client base including Newmonth Mines, CSI, Byrnecut RUC, Great Central Mines, Magellan Metals, Aditya Birla, Woodie Woodie and the list continues. There are very few mines within Western Australia that Remote Area Concrete has not been involved in both surface and underground with 4 Batch Plants operating at any one time.

Roger has been involved in Fly in Fly Out since the late sixties in the Simpson Desert, was assigned to the Australian Land Clearing Team in South Vietnam and through a previously owned earthmoving company caried out earthworks at Tindall Air Force Base (Katherine, NT) Woomera, Roxby Downs, Andamooka, SA, suburban Adelaide and regional SA.

After a break from concrete, and still thinking outside the square, Roger has re-entered the industry producing quality pre-cast concrete modules which can be manufactured to meet any requirements. With 3 decades of experience in the industry only working in remote and isolated locations, with the major portion of work carried out on mine sites, Roger is well aware of what is required, and is always up for the challenge of new and innovative projects within the industry.
